Are you saying that pick at the airport would be cheaper or dearer ? I am not sure what you you mean. I thought that being picked at the airport by Portuguese taxi and driven to Ayamonte was more expensive than being picked up by taxi from Ayamonte is that not true ?

Links charge 68 for an airport pick up (and drop off). In the shop there is a poster at the till for a 65 charge (I think its one of the owner's sons).
Incidentally Links look really good these days - with new owners Phil and Sally with Liz driving as well. They charge you only when you have done the return journey to say town, and offer a 24 hour service. We've had problems before with so-called 24hr taxis (its a long walk especially when you aren't in a straight line!!) However even though I havent used the 24hr service yet I feel confident with the new owners. It also feels good that you pay at the end. I will use them exclusively if available ... but have no commercial interest.
Some of the independant property management companies at CE will also do a drop off... similar prices.
I would even pay a supplement eg after 2am if I was confident of a return... as that walk back is hellish!
BTW Ayamonte from CE is 10 each way. Luis resto in M-Francisco 10. Castro Marim is 12-14 and VRSA is 15 I think - double check first
Sally also is famous for massages and Liz is a hairdresser.....multi tasking!

I know the op was asking about a Taxi service but I just wanted to mention that we have used a transfer service from Faro Airport to Isla Canela a few times now with great success. The cost is 22 euros and we have never needed to wait for more than 30 minutes before leaving the airport. It is a shared service so you may have a small detour. For going back to the airport, you just reconfirm the booking and pickup point the day before.
There is more than one company but we have been getting good service from www.a2btransfers.com
No! I am not affiliated in any way with this company.

Re: Taxi from Faro to Esuri
Sorry, just reread my post. My currency was wrong.
It's 22 gbp each way. Total around 55 euros return at today's current rates.
Also, it is per person so the financial benefit rapidly falls away if there more than 2 people. In my case, it has always been one person travelling.
For the right circumstances, it's an option worth considering

We had family of 2 adults and 2 children visit for Half Term last week. We hired a 6 seat Fiat from Vostock in Ayamonte. It was perfect for us and the little boy age 6 loved being up front between his Grandad and Daddy. cost was very reasonable for 8 days and we were able to pick them up at Faro and drop them off without them needing to go through the business of car hire paperwork at Faro with tired children. Great!
