Well is was:

IBI - Council Tax that you can have paid by direct debit

Patrimonio - a tax on your wealth - based on the value of your property

Renta - a tax on letting the property EVEN IF YOU DON'T LET IT (based upon the value of your property)

I seem to remember the Patrimonio stopped last year, I'm still chasing my gestor to come back to me on the renta, its only been 3 times I've chased him (by email) over 3 months, so it'll be a while yet before he replies

Just dug this up after finishing.

Costa Blanca is a big big area. In Gandia yes, as I already said

I could also do with advice re taxes payable when owning a property and the name of a local Gestor. We have a place in the Gandia area.

PM me and I can let you know of a good gestor in the centre of Gandia (not sure if I can mention him directly).

Why do people think you need a gestor for taxes? Surely all you need is an ASSESOR FISCAL?

Why not?
€40-€60 once a year to not have to worry about filling in forms and taking it to the hacienda? Bargain!

Possibly, but from my experience the prices are the same and a Gestor can do so much more in a variety of areas.

Finding a good gestor and establishing a good relationship is one of the best things you can do in Spain - ours has saved us thousands of Euro.

My point was that you don't need a lawyer, just someone who can organise your taxes - as in tax accountant.

I absolutely agree, that (IMHO) it is best to have a professional do the work for you.

You didn't mention lawyers actually.

I would agree with you - I would not use a lawyer for anything that didn't involve going to court.

You're correct. Oops, I had mis-remembered what a Gestor was:(

Hello Everyone,

It is my understanding that if you own one property and are resident in Spain then you can offset costs against Spanish tax.

I have felt it necessary to delete two posts on the thread

I would think twice about taking advice from a company that feels the need to register on forums as different identities .... the reasons for why only they know, but its not the first time
