I'm not keen on bits of metal sticking out of body parts either although earrings are OK.

Personally anyone who pierces, tattoos or paints ( loads of slap ) are suffering from low self esteem.
We are what we are, trying to con others into thinking different usually ends in tears.

Is that what you think inking is?

That's obviously your opinion to which you are entitled. I would however disagree strongly. People have tattoos for all manner of reasons, a few of those may be because they suffer from low self esteem although I honestly don't understand the connection. To judge someone because of some work they've had done on their skin is so narrow minded it's not true. You (general) see someone with no inking and you (again general) decide that they're a jolly good soul and you'll work with them, have a drink with them, generally share some of your life with them and then you discover that their back/front, bum etc has tattoos. What do you do, change your opinion, suddenly have nothing to do with them? Bull.

You (again general) cannot possibly judge someone because of what they have or don't have on their skin, that's no different from judging them on the colour of their skin which is obviously illegal.

To take it a step further if I had two guys for job interviews, both appearing to have identical qualifications, but one with, and one without visible tattoos,
then I'd be inclined to think, oh oh, tattoos, lesser intelligence than no tattoos.

Of course I may well be wrong as it doesn't necessarily follow, but I'd still give the job to the guy with no tattoos anyway because I think they are an abomination that I'd prefer not to see.

No I,ve never yet seen one I liked, not even when done in a delicate manner on an interesting area of the female anatonomy.

Completely different, whatever skin colour you're born with, you're stuck with it, but nobody is born covered in tattoes. That's a conscious decision by the person to change their appearance.

Looks bloody awful in my opinion. Anyone else noticed this trend?

What nationality were the barmaids?

Because I dont see as many Spanish women with tatoos, but I suppose they will catch up.

I would never have one, I would have changed my mind after a while and wanted another one:rofl:

I did know one person with tattoos on his arms but he was a really nice person...I do wonder about their mentality though:unsure:

All English and in the main very presentable, smart and generally very nice.

I know that tats have been popular with women for years now and yet I still don't like to see them on especially older women. On men I have less of a problem.

My OP was about the trend now for the inside of the finger to be tatooed which nobody else seems to be aware of. I can't believe it's a 'Sussex thing'

I note that is in the past tense - because he had tatoos or because he was mental ?

A friend of mine who likes tattoos, had three partners in four years, each one in turn being the real deal, for life partner.

His arms are now somewhat less than a pretty sight .

Agree, although I must admit that on the right bod, a tat of those wings that sit on the lower back that are visible over the bikini can look good.

When they get older and that "parsons nose" lump that some get with age is highlighted, it is a not a good look at all.

And tat on "square" women is a deffo no no,
