Tattoos on fingers
I have been interviewing most of the last week for barmaids and noticed that about three of them had at least one finger tatooed. Not on the front of the hand or knuckles as men used to do bit along the inside of the finger. A common one was to have your husband/partners name tatooed on your wedding finger. Looks bloody awful in my opinion. Anyone else noticed this trend?

They all look bloody awfull to me.
If I was doing job interviews and there were two guys with identical qualifications and ability, one covered in tattoos and one not, I know which I'd go for and I doubt if I'd be the only one to think that way.

can't abide the damned things, even after my time in the RN I havent got a one and can see no reason for it, some of the sanest blokes had one that made no sense after getting wazzled on a run ashore. The first thing they said the next morning was "what will wife/mother say"
there was a splurge of political correctness in banks and building societies where I always seemed to be served by Asian girls with henna tattooes all over their hands - made me shudder. Luckily it has stopped now and they are all tat free.

I think all tattoos look stupid, on men or women, but that's just me.
Give them a few years until they start to get wrinkly, you won't have a clue what they are anyway. I'm glad to see neither of my sons or DIL are sporting any.

I love a good tramp stamp, it gives you something to focus on while they are bent over.

It would be hard to propose to a woman if she has I Love Fred stamped all over her and your name is John.

Alyssa Milano of Charmed had a large sigil tattoed on her right shoulder blade which was (poorly) fuzzed over for a guest appearance in another program, although no effort was made to hide those on her ankles
Christopher Meloni of Law & Order SVU however has a fake tattoo of a United States Marine Corps Emblem on the underside of his right bicep specially for the series which is regularly shown.

I could put young people getting tattoos (anywhere, not just on fingers) down to youthful indiscretions that they will regret in later life, but I'll never understand why some middle-aged people go in for them. Do they think they'll look "cool" or are desperately trying to cling on to youth, or what?

As someone who is inked I have to say I don't see the problem with tattoo's, agreed, seeing them on faces and lower arms is a little disconcerting but each to their own, I'm simply not conceited enough to have an issue with it. I know an absolutely brilliant waitress, professional in every way, who has a lovely tattoo of ivy wrapped around her wrist and hand, does it make her a bad waitress? Nope.... does it improve her performance? Nope.
