Taking power bank device on board aircraft.
Thinking of buying a power bank to ensure my devices don't run out of power whilst on holiday and away from a charging point. However, as these are just solid electronic lumps, does anyone know if one will be allowed on board an aircraft in the cabin? Unlike devices such an an iPad, at security there's no way of switching a power bank on to show it's what it is and not something suspicious.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Thanks for that. Flying with two airlines, Easyjet then with BA into the USA. Will ask them as you suggest. Just concerned that some over zealous security official will refuse to let it through despite what I say about airlines' opinions I have been given!
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

If you email them and get a satisfactory answer then a copy of it can be used to show any officials.
Hopefully successfully

I fly between the UK and Australia regularly and owing to the length of the trip currently have 5 such devices. Only had to show them once, every other time they have just gone through the xray in my rucksack. I also went to Spain last year and carried them in hand luggage with easyjet. Airlines are used to seeing them, you'll be fine.

Just my personal experience but I have flown many times on various airlines with a power bank in my hand luggage and it has never once raised a comment or concern at security.
Edited to add: sorry, jumped in too quickly, I see Pollyanna has already answered this.
