Our pool is also uncovered (we do not have space for a cover). What is your weekly maintenance regime in Winter. How does it differ from Summer.

I am asking because our pool maintainer keeps our community pool at a standard where you could swim in it in january if you wanted. I feel he may be over maintaining and therefore overcharging seeing as the pool is only used from May to October.

Does €1,200 a year sound right (labour only) for maintenance fees?

many thanks for any help.

I have a private pool and for that fee I would want Mr Phelps giving me lessons daily. How many of you pay this maintenance fee for this pool (you say it is communal) Somebody is making a few easy bucks !!A third to half of this might be acceptable in my opinion.

Hi,

About the price - how big is he pool? community pools are sometimes ten times the size of private pools - what do you ge for the money? chemicals included? how long is he there (summer & winter).

At an average 80 euros a month for a normal private pool - not that expensive

Hi aspainwreck

sorry for not replying sooner.

Yes the solar pump works well and although we paid around 4000 euros for it
and the panels etc, it now costs nothing to run. It is normally on for as long as the sun shines.

At the time we had no electricity, just a generator, and it was important to keep the pool filtered, particularly in the summer. Our pool cleaner was rather dubious at the beginning but has since admitted that it works well. Having said that he uses the electric pump during his visits to backwash and clean as it is more powerful.

It was supplied to us by a company in Valencia using a freight service via Jerez.
Not sure if he is still there as this was 3 years ago. and not been in touch since. I thought I needed a spare part for the pump recently and ordered thru a UK company but I got a contact direct with the manufacturer and if I needed to buy another or needed any parts would go direct to them.

It was fitted in by a good local guy and it was his idea to maintain two pumps
with the ability to switch from one to the tother whenever necessary.

As we now have legal electrcity that seems to have been a very smart recommendation.

The pool is about 8M * 4M so not very big, but does need a lot of attention in summer has it used by about 14 people.

So I should be looking at €80 a month, or €960 a year, plus chemicals - yes?

Thanks for the help.

Hi

Yes around that sort of figure for one visit a week which should be sufficient. The pool man will gain in the winter and spend more time in the summer. You say 14 people will use the pool, with reasonable hygene then no prob - if your renting it then you would not believe how people will treat it

Many thanks,

I take it that despite being on mains, your still using Solar power for the pool pump?

Can I ask the make of the pump?

Have you any more details you could send off-line?

Hi aspainwreck,

We use the solar pump all the time, except when the pool people are cleaning it.

Our solar pump, which comes with a controller, but the solar panels seperaatley, is a Lorentz PS600 Badu Top 12.

What else would you like to know?
