Need to claim my hubbys tax back from last year, is it too late and can i still do it even though we are out of the country? and can i do it online?

Google HMRC if you mean tax paid in UK and take it from there.

I sorted out my father-in-law's overpayment by telephone within the last week.

On the other hand it can take seemingly forever...and do not trust that they get their calculations right or that the tax code they give is correct. My tax office gave me a total code of 200 because they said I owed tax but, when questioned, agreed that I did not owe them but the reverse.
