Mostly I use the WiFi connection from a TP-Link WAP connected to the router. That easily exceeds 500mb which is far more than I need. The cable runs 50m to the other end of the house where is connected to another WAP.

Still way short of the consistent 960mbs you claimed?? and i quote your post . "We are in the Campo and get 960Mb/s all the time."

Why exactly are you arguing the point? At my iMac, connected via cable I get 960mb/s all the time. What’s your problem with that?

I can’t be bothered to waste my time with a troll. If you don’t believe me, that’s your problem.

Yep, expected that comment.........so predictable............need to have evidence of your wild claims, but understand it must be very annoying when challenged and you can't..............

Just done a speed test. 1.49 meg. adequate for SD F1 shootou streaming. Only buffered once.

No 5G here just the shrug

If I was a betting man, I would wager good money on no chance whatsoever of 100% fibre to every home by end of 2024. It would cost a fortune to do it in our very rural spread out village in the campo. There will be thousands of more similar hamlets. They might achieve it by putting a node in the geographic centre of the hamlet served by 5G . Our house is 500 metres from any other house. Lots of others much further away.

I can't see why they cannot do it. If the village has a telephone sevice then they just run a fibre cable over the same poles. Thats exactly what they did for us.

15 minute drive to nearest village with copper. There are hundreds of similar hamlets . This is real campo where folk are lucky to have mains water and or twisted bell wire mains electric. Hence my observation. I used to work in telco in a previous life. Our hamlet has 71 houses on 11,025 metres of water mains from a central tank. Not all of the occupied houses are on water mains as too far from centre.

If Movistar had said “ we will mop up the remainder with new 5G nodes” I would have bought that as a solution.

Depends on a couple of things, one is what version of CAT cable you run; I use CAT 6 and it takes 1Gb easy enough and looses very little on a 70m run of cable to a 'summer' room in the garden..

If your computer is showing only 100mb/s go to your windows network settings, click ethernet properties and see if its capped at 100mb/s and change settings to 1Gb
