I'm afraid I and many others are going to have to disagree with you, but then you haven't been the victim of squatters (yet). I will be rewriting the petition as I've already mentioned.

Also , if you are so confident that your security systems can beat the squatters in Spain , why don't you dare them? Put your address up on a pro-Okupas site and tell them your property is squatter proof. Then after a few months time give us an update.

UK is not in the EU any longer, so UK has no leverage Spain to get any changes in the law.
There are lots of consumer programmes in the UK which could be used to highlight this issue.
Also, you might be better going via the European Parliment.
Not sure if they have a mechanism to highlight such issues...

You can petition the EU and sign petitions if you're an EU resident, it's not necessary to be an EU citizen.

It would be Priti Patel who is currently the UK Home Secetary that woulld represnt the UK in matters relating to squatter taking the home of expats in Spain!

Bases on the absolute disaster today with the French over migrants crossing the channel, anyone hoping to get her to represent swallows in Spain and achieving anything is dreaming!

In fact, she would make the situation worse!!!
