Spanish white goods brands - Which are best and which to avoid ?
I am re-equipping a kitchen and most of the brands of white goods on offer are unfamiliar, esp at the lower / middle end of the market.
Are there any which are considered better than others, and any to be avoided ? At the moment, I am specifically looking for a fridge / freezer, but will soon also be moving on to other items such as an oven etc.

Are there any real spanish brands? Arent these things pretty much global now?
We tend to buy samsung refrigeration and washers [made mainly in russia for europe and mexico for the us] unless miele or a few other real german made brands are found, bosch are reasonably good and cheap. IMHO avoid haier [new chinese, questionable quality] SMEG who made some cookers nicely in italy then subcontract loads to cheapo chinese] and anything made in britain, they are all made by those welsh brothers factory and labelled ariston candy etc etc.
Any ‘own brand’ anywhere is questionable but a very important question - can you buy a ling warranty with soneone who can actually fix it [10 year miele] or just buy cheap and replace [bosch.]

Don't really know much but BlueSky washing machines seem to lack any cycle which takes less than 2 hours :/

Its now closed i just read - good thing too, their stuff was rubbish, still is, but made in poland and italy now - hotpoint ariston and creda are the main makes but they make them for a lit of ‘own brands’ too, avoid, they are the ones having issues with dryer fires i think. They also had explosively self destructing washing machines [lot of kinetic energy in a spinning machine...]

Try BALEY - this Spanish manufacturer is now part of the Bosch group and very good quality

Do a bit of research on the manufacturer's website, print off the product descriptions of those appliances you are interested in. Take these to your local (not superstore) dealer and ask for the best price. We gat 40% off, free delivery. installation and disposal of the old device and next day delivery with barely any haggling! We actually chose Bosch in the end as there was barely any price difference but Balay was an excellent runner up.

One thing about bosch - in the same way that VW or Peugeot/citroen/toyota make a car in 3 countries with 3 names but mechanically pretty much identical, Bosch own Neff and Siemens appliances. The same device is often available from all 3 with very different price tags, an added button or two, but essentially the same thing. Often the financial decision is about the warranty arrangement not the box itself.
The ultimate exampke of such marketing is the VW golf abd its international variants. Theres a 2 litre diesel engine, it comes in 115/140/170/240 horsepower variants, and its all in the chip - the engines are mechanically identical, you can have the chip modded if you dont mind voiding the warranty, and realise the brakes arent the same.......

If you look at the Balay or Bosch washing machines or dryers, they are identical, except for the badging.
I recently bought a very nice Balay electric oven for a holiday rental - the timer was basic, but the whole unit was well made and good quality.
