Default Spanish Five and Dimes Stores

Does anyone know of Spanish equilivant to Woolworths Walmart (Tescos), in other words a five and dime store. I stopped by El Corte Inglés today to pick up a spaula and was shocked at the prices cheapest one was 8€ I never spent more than 2-3 in Germany

Normally I would pick something up at Wallmart (or wallymart as I like to say) or Woolco, but I havn't found either here.

thanks

Hi,
Try "Super Cien (100)" shops, or shops with a similar name. Used to be everything under 1 peseta, now 1 euro (ie. 100 cents)...

Where I live in Javea there are at least three Chinese Bazzars.
They sell most things very very cheap.
I don't know if they are in any other areas.

I wish we had woolworths here. As before...chinese bazaars are actually really good for certain things, alcampos supermarkets isnt too bad too.

There are at least two in Oliva - I didn't go in them for ages because they looked so tacky, but we actually visit them a lot now as they have proved to be really useful for a whole range of cheaper household stuff
