Spam e mail
 

In my spam box is a confirmation of an order from Amazon.I haven't ordered anything from them.Has anyone else had a similar mail;should I just delete it?I haven't opened it.

I would not but I would check your Credit card as there is a real plague of credit card scamning going on at the moment.
Customers of an airport transfer company Resort Hoppa that operates in Portugal and Turkey have found unauthorised transactions on their cards having used them to pay online. Not sure if they operate in Spain,
The boss had her card scammed last week a number of transactions up to £300 were attempted .
Ignore the email but check your credit card for unusual activity,

Sorry to say but Spain has the highest credit card fraud in Europe.

Do you know that for a fact, or is it just another smear?

According to this, the UK was Europe's top credit card fraud victim, until this year when it was overtaken by France.

Definatly check your credit card / account.

Some time ago I had a debit from a company I'd never heard of in Bejing . I did not have much in that account at the time & it happened to make it over drawn. Now not using said account for quite some time, I didn't check it much. Whoo what a shock I got, unauthorised overdraft fee's :blink:
Took loads of expensive phone calls to block the card, here's a good one from the Halifax.
" We can't stop any payments from your card as long as it's in date " WTF !!
So what's the point of reporting it ?
Yes the cards in my possession but cancel it anyway.
The only thing I use the card for is purchases from Amazon.
Got sorted eventually, so I now check the account at least once a week.

Do emails from Amazon usually go to your SPAM directory? It seems odd. What does your Amazon account show - has there been an order made? It may just be possible that you ordered something inadvertently through 1-click. If you know how, check that the email is actually from Amazon but don't click on any links in the email.

My work email account is always receiving "invoices" etc. from a variety of sources (HMRC, banks, ebay, amazon etc.) posing as something they are not.
As fast as you block the sender others appear with slightly different email addresses.
Block and delete.

I have never used Amazon or been on the website.
I checked with my bank and all ok

You are not at risk by opening any e mail, but never open attachments or click on links unless you know and trust the sender.

I use AVG anti virus software at home and at work just in case I open dodgy attachments by mistake. So far has stopped all threats and is free.

I use Avast, I find it is slicker than AVG. Another good free anti virus is Avira.

Sounds like a phishing attempt. If it was me, I'd ignore it and delete the email

Yesterday I received a confirmation order from Amazon. I forwarded it to Amazon asking why. I am not a customer of theirs.
They confirmed it was not from them and not to open the attachment. (Which I hadn´t)
They went on to advise me to run a virus scan if I had.
