Most people return from holiday with a tan or perhaps a touch of sunburn, but a surprising number of British women are coming back with a slightly more long-last memento of their time off work: A baby.
One in five mothers become pregnant while on holiday, according to a new poll.
The survey of 2,000 people found 18 per cent of British women admitted conceiving while on holiday.
Spain topped the table with 19 per cent conceiving in the traditional British tourist hotspot, closely followed by the UK, with 15 per cent becoming pregnant during a 'staycation.'

Spaniards have one of the lowest birthrates in the world, at about 1.2 children per couple. Only Italy and Japan have such a similarly low birthrate.

I have just watched the Spanish familys coming here for the weekend and they have around 6 children..

People hang around in extended family groups on holiday, probably groups of cousins

My wife and I do not know anybody under the age of 50 with more than 3 children, most have none or one

When my wife was at school -15 to 20 years ago, she was the only one who had 3 brothers and sisters, everyone else had smaller families

Is it really about women in Spain.?? I remember when we had power cuts - 9 months later there was a peak in births. The telly was off !!!

I think this post is about going on holiday and with the daily stresses put aside and a feeling of fun and freedom, and free time etc couples may feel more connected and therefore passion increases.... (Thankfully for both)

With the inevitable result.

And why not good for them

Its just that a lot come to Spain.... A major holiday destination, as is the 'staycation' market.... Whichever holidays seem to enhance the ' luuuurrrve connection' (.... And less of this. )
