Default Spain clamping down on scooters

Given the accidents and potential for causing fires, I would say this is a good move.

I'd rather they enforced the rules regarding those riding them than the infernal devices themselves!

Si.. So many here in the Valencia region - which actually has laws concerning them - without helmets, 2 people on them,, etc...

they are a motor vehicle and should be enforced like one...

In fact, I wish they would ban them altogether. In Valencia we only have to deal with the idiots that ride them. In other cities where Bolt etc. have the rentals by the minute you have to deal with them littering the streets and blocking almost every footpath.

What was a temporary ban in Barcelona at the start of the year (bus, metro, tram) turned into a permanent ban shortly after a battery exploded on the Madrid metro a month ago. Statistics say one blows up each week in Catalonia, that's generally, including inside people's houses, not just on public transport.
