Social Security number
#16
I just checked again. The number on my card is 2 digits not letters) followed by 10 digits. On the paperwork issued by the health department it is shown in the NAF format with 2 digits/10 digits/2digits.
That's the only number I have. My health card is red not green and issued by the dept of social security, not by the Junta.
Maybe it's different in Andalucia - it's certainly pretty confusing!

That's what I would expect. For some reason I seem to have a full social security card!

That is a health card only and green means you get free prescriptions, red you have to pay for them.
All I know is that NAF is for work and NUSS for health and a card issued due to a E121 is solely for health cover here paid for by the UK.

But then all the documentation from the central health computer (scrips, appointments, tests etc) shows me as being a Spanish national!
Perhaps that's why when I last renewed my driving licence for 3 years (medical reasons) , and paid the discounted price they renewed it for 5 years.
Then there's my last ITV - 11 year old car, renewed for 2 years and the correct 2 year sticker issued and the Ficha Technica stamped for 2 years.
Nothing is simple or predictable in Spain!

Yes ours are like that!
For some unknown reason there is an extra zero on mine (but not husbands) after the X, I only noticed when the bank pointed out to me that it isn't the same as on my green paper.
Anyone come across this before....and should I contact someone about it?

megmet,
The zero is a common thing but I soon learnt to leave it off. It plays havoc with bank computers.
