Anyone else having problems with sending text messages via skype? Never has been a problem except for the last week or so.

Nope, ours is working fine! Just sent a text message with Skype to my son in Greece.

I sent a couple today which returned a 'Misc error', although the person I sent them to did get them...... !

I didnt know I could send text messages through Skype

Just tried it and sent one to myself and it worked fine

Now I am busy sending everyone texts lol. Its cheaper than sending them from a mobile. Only problem is peeps cannot reply.

You can put in your mobile number in preferences, so that when they receive the text message thingie, it will look like you sent it from your mobile and they can just reply there

Anyway.....what are you doing playing with Skype texting when you should be preparing party invites?????????????????

He can reply to your mobile if you use your mobile number and not your username for the sent from setting.... see skype prefs (In Mac version, probably settings in Windows)

Go to File Menu and choose "Edit My Profile"

Put in your mobile number and click the option "Send SMS from this number"
