Skype problem.

Skype problem.
Does anyone use free skype calling ? I have never had this problem before, If I make a call or receive one , I can hear and see them alright, they see me but hear only the first words then very few if any after that ?
I have tried troubleshooting on both skype and my laptop which is new ( months) no faults found ?
