Until 1st of this month we used to get Sky News on channel 146 of Digital Plus. It was never offically listed as a channel and every summer there would be a flashing banner saying retune to a different frequency or lose the service. We never did and it never went away.
This year no banner but its gone. I'm not that fussed but hubby likes it so if anyone knows if it has moved to a different channel number that would make him happy.
Thanks Rose

Sky News international on Astra 1 at 19 east is on
frequency 12604 h 22 5/6
It has been on that frequency since August 2010.
If you are using Hispasat at 30 west for D+ then it has recently moved frequency to 12012 v 27.5 5/6.
Its old frequency was switched off on the 25th May - probably the day you lost it (the channel i mean!)
A rescan of your D+ box should pick up the new frequency.
Sorry I do not know if they have moved it from one channel number to another..

I'm afraid thats all a bit technical for me. How do we rescan our D+ box? We definitely had the channel on Tuesday 31st May cos we what the news on it every weekday evening. So its a bit weird if it moved a week earlier.

Depending on which receiver you have, the manner to rescan will be differnet...
In most you have to enter the menu system and perform one from there.
Others receivers, you just need to reboot the receiver, and it self updates.
It may help if you know which D+ service you are using...the 19 East Astra 1 service, or the 30 West Hispasat service?
(The former will have lost of german and french and arabic channels inthe D+ list, anfd the latter will have mainly SPanish and Portugeuse channels inthe list)

If you dont know how to do a rescan, then do do it.
But until you do do a rescan of channels, you will ont get Sky News back, as the rescan should pick up Sky news's new frequency (assuming it has changed).
I dont think there are any german channels on Hispasat, so it is likely you are on Astra 1 at 19 east.

Fixed at last. Husband did something - not sure what and not sure he knows either but Sky has turned up on a different channel number.
Thanks for the help and advice.

Sometimes the old "press every button there is and hope somehting happens" actually works!
