How do i purchase one? I know it only gives me a few extra channels but i might want to add setanta as well.

There is a SKY FTV ( Free to view card) which gives access to CH5, some other channels and enables some of the features on a SKY Digibox.
Free sat doesn't need a card, effectively it is a selection of Free to AIr channels that can be picked up by any Satellite receiver providing you have the right size dish and pointing at ASTRA 2. if you obtain a Freesat receiver it can be programmed to a specific UK Postal code for regional channels and it will give access to the TV guide feature.
If you take out a Setanta Sports package this will give you access the SKY FTV channels ( again which ones you receive in Spain will depend on dish size and Location)

freesat not sky you need there box to get the 140 channels and just entre a postcode and it works , have boxes going from 100 euros

Setanta do not offer any FTV or FTA other than Setanta News.
After looking at their site it appears that you do not need to be a Sky subscriber to get Setanta.
But...
You may very well need a viewing card, from how I understand it because they need the number so that they may process the application.

Sky cards are all going to be replaced in April 2009 as they do every 5 years so it may be worth hanging on and start next season. Check it out here and any other Sky probs you may have.

you could get a familiy member or friend in the UK to order one for you.

this means that when the cards are replaced the replcaement card will go to a UK address you "control".
if you buy a FSFS over the counter here in spain, then there is no gaurentee that you will get a replacement when the cards are replaced...

there is also uncertanty about whether FSFS cards will continue, as they are in theory no longer due to C4 and Five being available for free without a skycard so sky may not be under any obligation to provide them anymore - especially if five us and fiver also go free then all the cards will unlock are skythree and setanta sports news....

and due to this uncertanty, and problem of supply of replacement cards, is why i no longer (at the moment) supply these cards...no too sure about other suppliers tho....

and from the FAQ's
"I am not a Sky customer, can I get Setanta Sports?
Yes, Providing you have a digital satellite set top box." and i assume they will provide the sky / setanta card....
