Not much faith in a miracle economic recovery here.
Nine hour queue for German lessons.
For all many Spanish can't handle the contrasting German culture and soon come home, there are obviously lots more determined enough or desperate enough to give it a try.

From the little exposure I have had to Germany I would say an easy going Spaniard could have a bit of difficulty slotting into the very formal German way of life where they don't seem to know (or want to know) the first name of a work colleague, along with rigid timekeeping which we know is a Spanish problem.
But at least they are prepared to get on their bikes and give it a try, even if they come home they will have gained experience outside the enclave.

Spaniards are now the fastest-growing group of migrants into the UK, new figures from that country's employment ministry show.
The UK saw a 50 percent jump in the number of Spaniards signing onto its national insurance (NI) scheme from March 2012 to 2013, the figures from the UK's Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) reveal

Aggy's still trying to push the brain-drain scare - trying too hard
If Spain is losing too many people, will there be any Brits left in the UK? (apart from teamUK on here, who apparently spend most of their life on a Spanish expat site
)

The study of emigration from Britain reveals that an estimated 4.7 million UK-born people now live abroad, with Australia consistently the most popular destination over the past 20 years.

The difference being of course that it's two way traffic in and out of the UK with many of those leaving simply looking for a better climate, hardly the case for Spanish heading into N.Europe.

JR found the job to be demanding, and disciplined (no personal calls, arrive on time, etc.) But his wife was simply too lazy to do any housework. The kids seemed to just fit in - but were too ill-disciplined and badly behaved for their german neighbours, who complained about them.
So it is possible for foreigners (even easy going, manana types) to buckle down. But for others they're too used to the easy life.

Like yourself, you have spent 5 years on here living in the UK. I would bet that myself and a few others have spent more time in Spain this past 12 months than you have.

Merely proving my point Jacky. Life must be really grim in the UK if teamUK (who live there) spend their free time on here...Why on earth spend time on a forum, still less visit the place, if you all despise the place and its inhabitants?
