A sign of the times
On arriving back in Spain just had my "council tax" bill delivered .... appears to have increased 20% on last years bill ....... I guess the town hall must be trying to raise some extra funds
Maybe they will get around to repairing the road sometime soon
Anyone else experienced increases from the Town Hall?

They certainly get their priorities right,
What they can't stuff in their back pockets goes up in smoke.

Thats a point actually, last year the firework displays were few and far between compared to previous years. I ought to complain

In the past local councils raised over 50% of their income from building licences - that has now almost gone away so they have to find alternative sources of income as they get little additional help from central government.
Our local council are now installing radar traps in 30kph areas to raise money.
Initially is was so successful that they have now had to raise the tripping speed as they couldn't handle the volume of offences!

Good to hear. There's a time & aplace for everything and as much as I like to twist the throttle or floor the peddle, towns & inner cities are not the place.

" I guess the town hall must be trying to raise some extra funds "
and I pointed out that our town hall was installing radar checks to raise the extra funds that you are referring to.
Seems a reasonable link to me

Oh dear, it's not going quite as Mitzy intended.
