Default Sign of the times

I have just had a booked flight with Easyjet for next February cancelled
Stanstead/Faro
Rather annoying but I thought just transfer to another London airport
I was amassed to see they how many flights have been cancelled.
There are several days when Easyjet do not operate a flight at all from London/Faro ( unless I am pushing the wrong button)
I am not suggesting the South deserves any special attention, BUT I would have thought with all the people owning villas ,boats & apartments in the Algarve & Southern Spain using Faro as their main airport this route must be one of Easyjets busiest & most profitable?
Plus all the golfing parties that flock to Vilamora & the surrounding areas.
It does not look to good for the less popular regions & airports.
Is it the sign of times to come ,credit crunch maybe ?
It can't all just be down to the price of fuel surely ?

Easyjet doesn't list flights that are fully booked.

My wife just received an email from easyjet advising her of a change in flight. They have cancelled a service on a Sat in Dec. No problems rebooking it for the Fri or Sun. Yes, they are consolidating. They know if it is worthwhile running the service and they are deciding, sod the customer. In future, although I don't really want to be in Gatwick I will be using BA.
