Seville accomodation
#1

Hi
I wonder if anybody can recommend a decent (4 stars min) hotel in Seville for next Friday night. Since we will only have the one night (flying out 7 am Saturday) it would be nice if we were in the centre with a nice little restaurant not too far.
PS How far is it actually from the centre to the airport ???
Thanks
Anne

5 star Hotel Alfonso XIII I am told there is nothing better never stayed there, I have a wee 4 bed 2 bath place with mature garden and fruit trees on the outskirts which does me fine
For options try sevillaonline.es
Airport is about 15/20 mins I think.

Why not try Booking.com, if you specify Sevilla airport you will get:-
http://www.booking.com/searchresults...431187;srpos=1
Then you have options down the lefthandside of various types of accommodation.
Finally review the hotel at Tripadvisor:-

It is the right side of the river but almost as far as you can get from the airport without crossing the river. You would be better staying the other side of the center nearer to the airport perhaps near the train station but as you know these are not the most slubrious of places.

Thanks all for your help, we will probably search in the centre since we have to be at the airport at 05.50 in the morning ; not too much traffic I suppose. Let's hope the weather next week will stay as enjoyable as we had so far.

I cannot comment on hotels but my experience on Seville is that you do not try to take your car inside the Inner ring road. There are many places to park your car around the perimeter and the walk is only about 750 meters to the center

We stayed in the Hotel Rey Alfonso X it's 4star.
I think we paid about 75 euros for a double room ?
We booked through Atrapao.com
Their site has a map, directions & their terms are also in English
It is only about 500mts from the cathedral & all the cities other main tourist attractions, only slightly more to the designer shops.
The gardens are well worth a look
As previously mentioned don't try & park to close you have no chance, we parked slightly further away & got a taxi to the hotel ( still only just over a Km) but walked back about 10 minutes just the other side of the river
Being as you are in the hub of the city there are loads of restaurants within 750mts walking distance & if you fancy the horse drawn carriage ride of the city they are situated @ the end of the street 300mts.
It a good area for tapas bars
If you want to dine some where up market have a look @ the restaurant Egana Oriza www.restauranteoriza 00 34 954 227 254
It is internationally aclaimed & as I remember not silly money ,but I haven't been there for some time.
Yet again within walking distance
Hope this info helps
Regards
Chris

We have already booked hotel Abanico (I think), looks a bit Spanish so my sister was happy with it. I won't venture into Seville by car. Since it is a rented one, we will give it back on Friday and take a taxi back into Seville. Thanks for all your info ; we want to see as much as possible in the little amount of time we have, but i'm sure we will get a fair impression of Seville.

Seville is lovely to visit, and most places are perfectly safe. Just beware of tiny courtyards with a group of young men in. Muggings are unfortunately not totally uncommon in this type of area. You should be fine in all of the streets etc. Just keep your wallets tucked away and if you have a handbag, don't keep anything in it you wouldn't hand over in a jiffy.
