Default Setting up self employed (autonomo)

Hi, me again! I hope you do not mind a second post asking for advice.

I have been researching info re setting up as self employed in Spain.

Could someone just confirm that I have understood things properly, please?

1 - social security payments are around 260€ a month, this would include my husband and children? There is a discount of 80% for the first 6 months, 50% 6-12 months, 30% for 12-15 months.

2 - income tax would be 19% paid quarterly (although I have seen conflicting advice at 20%). The first 3 years income tax is at 9%, but only read this on one site.

3 - VAT, I don't charge VAT at the moment, and have no outgoings, so can I just ignore this aspect as I do in the UK (!!).

I'm currently paid via PayPal, and into my UK bank account from another company. Would I need to be paid direct into a Spanish bank account, or can I simply transfer the money from UK account and PayPal?

Thanks in anticipation

Also, could anyone can anyone confirm whether the social security payments can be deducted before income tax? Or do you pay tax on the whole income, then pay SS from the remainder.

I'm registered Autonomo. Social Security is paid seperately as a direct debit from your account. Income tax and VAT are filed on your tax returns. This page explains more. Guide to Spain's autonomo system

You do not have to take that choice, I am not autonomo, and nor is my partner.

Are you sure that you are legal. If so could you explain more fully.

This website is extremely slow, have a google for "Factura sin ser autonomo"

Many people use this type of service. You need to weigh up the pro's and cons to see if it suits you.

I recommend Inicio but there are many others.

I thought this was a good link ; Facturar sin ser autónomo | Ser autónomo

Having now read several articles on the subject it seems that it is quite hard to bill without being autonomo and still be legal!
