How long roughly does it take to sell your house on the south costa blanca? We are thinking about putting it on the market. I know things are slow at the moment but just how slow are they? We will not be asking silly money but still want what it is worth. No slashing prices just to get rid. Also we are in no hurry to sell.

We bought last year, at what I think was a realistic price.. The house we bought had only been on the market about 4 weeks. however some we saw are still on the market now and had been for several months before hand, so I guess it's just the luck of the draw. Think some people are asking way too much. if you put it on at a reasonable price you're gonna get people through the door same as in Uk and the more through the door the better chance of a sale.

Why not advertise it yourself?
A few years ago a friend of mine sold her house and she never used an estate agent. She did all of the advertising and viewings herself and sold.
That was before the advent of the internet, just goold old loacal paper and a magazine.
just a thought

There was an estate agent that I had quite a few dealings with in Torrevieja. I didn't buy through them in the end as I saw my house throough a friend where i was staying. They were very helpful and professional and knowlegable of the area I wanted to buy in. I can pm you their website if you decide to use an agent..

We sold within a month, BUT there are some houses on the same urbanisation that have been for sale for over 2 years, depends on asking for a realistic price for what you have, and remembering tha tthe estate agent probely added some 10 to 20,000€ to the price as their commission, you won't get that back, we used an internet only firm called BestPrice Properties and they were very good.

A home we viewed 15 months ago is still for sale. As a resale property it to my mind was overpriced by around 50-60 thousand euros considering the amount of work needed to bring it up to standard. The owners would not budge on price so we ended up buying a new build instead.
As an aside it was shown at a property exhibition we went to help out at yesterday, down by 15 thousand euro but as I said above, still overpriced.

Try telling someone that they have over priced their house! Everyone usually overvalues them, and estate agents don't relish telling you that.

we had three valuations, and each one was 100 k more than the last. We went for the middle one, and only had one person interested! Fortunately they bought it, but we were really starting to sweat blood.
