Seguridad Social.......UK version

What is the name for Seguridad Social in the UK now? Is it the DWP??
I want to get my hands on my British vida laboral (if such a thing exists). It's plain sailing here in Spain via their website (took me about 60 seconds and it was printing out of my machine), but I haven't got a clue how these things work UK side.
I've looked at the DWP website (if that is how you say Social Security these days) but can't find a UK equivalent of the vida laboral.
Ta.

How do you find out how many years/months/days of contributions you made whilst working in the UK?

Of course you only being a slip of a girl, dont need that, but they would/should be the office that has the dates you require.
You could start there, and then ask how you can get the "official" document with this information, that would be accepted by the authorities in an EU country.
A mover and shaker as yourself, should find this a doddle.

I´ve been asked the same question by Servef, the regional employment service. Although I´ve asked for a pension forecast (for other reasons), this only gives a total the number of years NI contribution. This isn´t enough since the Vida Laboral gives much more detail; employer, dates employed and occupation (?). I don´t think there´s anything in the UK system that corresponds to this.

I dont know if there is anythin gsimilar in the UK either, but the officers who do your pension forecast would have the info of the contributions paid, so that would be the best place to start, I think.
With the movement of workers in the EU, there must be some department that has developed or been created due to the fact that this must be quite common now, not just with expats moving to Spain, but also other EU countires.
I cant think of any other move to make, but I would start there.

Hi, this is my first post here, so I'll try to give some useful advise.
I could recently obtained a statement of my national insurance contributions by writing to the address noted here: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/individuals/h...licationss.htm
I know it is intended for Home Office applications, but anyway I asked one and they sent it to me.
Regards

Didn't realise that details of your NI contributions were such a closely guarded secret in the UK!
I'll contact HM Revenue - they do the Statement of NI contributions AND the pension forecast, right? Or is it someone else that does the pension forecast??
