Ref the smaller car. f you can afford new then you could trade in under the plan. Our neighbour has just *bought* his wife a beaten old renault for about five euros - and then immediately traded it in for 2000 euros off a Fiesta. I don't think that's how it's supposed to work, but maybe he knows someone in Trafico
As long as you dont turn up looking like that geezer who meet Johnny Vegas on Benidorm the other night !

yes SH cars are a fortune in spain, like alot of things in Spain, I returned to the UK in Aug, and picked up a mint VW polo 2001, for 1400 pounds, I have given up trying to understand how they work the cost of anything out in Spain, and with spain being in there worst reccecion ever, so where told , you just have to laugh at how they do things. I still miss the place, and will be back in a few weeks for a break.

I've been eyeing the prices up of used cars myself on autocasion & autoscout and am surprised at the amount people are still asking for cars with this economical climate. Next month when I do finaly get round to buying (looking at a BMW X5 or Range Rover) I'm going to be as cheeky as possible and see just how much they're willing to drop the price for a sale and when I do have them by the short & curlies I'll also demand a full tank of fuel. They make a hell of a profit when things are good and don't mind making amint out of us so time to turn the tables and see them sell low or not sell at all.
A few years ago you could have bought a LHD car from the UK for much less than the equivelant in RHD form but people have got wise to this now and you only have to browse the 'net to see how much more a LHD is fetching in the UK.

The advertised price of cars is one thing, but what they sell for is another matter. Just like with houses.
Funnily enough I've been trying to sell my X5 for ages and not had a whiff.
In the time I've been trying to sell it I've dropped it nearly 10K and still no interest. IMO the price of SH cars is going south. Rapidly.
