Hi,
I'm a UK citizen and have a possibility of a job in the Barcelona area which I'm currently considering.
I have a 14 year old son, who will be entering Year 10 in September. I'm looking for school recommendations, please. What do people think of the British School of Barcelona, for instance? He's not super academic, but we want a school where he'll be happy and where they'll get the best out of him.
Also, I won't get the job offer for a few weeks, if at all, so timings are not great. Do the schools close for July and August (in other words, would I be able to contact admissions?)?
Thanks!

Im not familiar with the private schools in Barcelona but obviously you will need an international English school. Their term times usually mirror Spanish schools so no half terms but long summer breaks. June 20th- 10th September. They normally are closed for part or all of August but generally they are much easier to deal with in terms of admissions than state schools. One thing that might be of importance is that as a result of Brexit at some point soon uk nationals will be treated as overseas students if returning from Spain to uk for higher education.
