I just bought the Garmin with N America maps. £150 from Amazon.
My TomTom was getting old anyway at 5+ years so no bad thing to get updated. Besides the wife and i only had 1 satnav between us.
And the Garmin worked perfect, all over Florida. Right to the door number.

I'm sure the Nokia is great. But it doesn't use Google maps, does it? Say what you will about Google, but their maps are by far the most accurate.
Personally, I was shocked to discover the simplicity and brilliance of Sat Nav on an Android phone/tablet. It's really brilliant. I'd never buy a dedicated navi now.

Not forgetting that you can run the system offline so no charges involved. Still if you are happy with Google then i'm happy.

Just buy this:

Do a google for the cheapest place to buy it and with the maps being updated free and the traffic information free for 3 years it's a no brainer.
I have the European edition of this sat nav and it's excellent. Just make sure the car you hire has a working cigar lighter/power point!

Not according to the reviews / feedback from mobile users that I have read, it would seem from reading these the most prefer/rate Nokia maps above google.

The point is that with the sophistication, simplicity, extensibility, and overall choices now available at zero or near-zero cost in mobiles phones and tablets, I'd have to believe that stand-alone navi systems will go the way of the dinosaurs in the not too distant future, except of course for specialised dedicated applications such as in the shipping or marine industries.
Ironically, the cost of a dedicated navi is not so much cheaper than a mobile phone these days. I paid €150 for my (new, totally libre) android 4 phone with 5" LED touchscreen, and all the goodies... the navi is amazing, along with all the other incredible stuff it does.
So, why buy a dedicated navi, unless you have a very specialised need for it?
