Samoa Airlines charge for the combined weight of each passenger and their luggage.
That means the skinnies can either pay less or carry more baggage, and the larger passengers would have to pay more for their body weight.
I can see there would be queues forming in the airport loos before the big weigh in, as people try to get rid of any excess weight, extra pounds will cost more.

Both myself and my case were plonked on a set of old Woolworth type scales and everyone else the same.
Meanwhile a guy stood by with a pencil and paper totting up all the figures, I presume to see what the chances were of getting the plane off the ground, as it appeared to be an ancient wartime relic, possibly from the first rather than the second.

I think it's a great idea, and if they are so fat they spill over onto two seats they should pay for two! If you are very tall you have to pay extra for leg-room, so there is already a precedent!

When I think of Samoans I think of rugby players doing the Haka. I think charging by weight sounds quite an astute move.
