Ryanair/Easyjet
I hear all the comments about Ryanair, but (touch wood) EVERY flight I have had with them has been on time. Perhaps not too full of joy but for the price of fish and chips for two what do you expect?
For various reasons, principally flight times, for the last few months I have been using Easyjet. EVERY flight has been late. NOT ONE has been on time. (Over a dozen now).
Yesterday I checked in for a flight I booked 2 months ago. The flight is now FOUR HOURS later. I will miss an important meeting.
Perhaps Ryanair may do the same in the future, but I have to say that these people are even more unreliable than BA.
And I NEVER thought I would say that.

Surprising that Easyjet was voted Best Budget airline in Europe during a lavish Gala at a swanky hotel on the Algarve at the 16th World Travel Awards, voted by travel agents worldwide on 17th October. Maybe travel agents don't use Easyjet? I have been on several flights using Easyjet this year and have been luckier than you have been. So far.

I agree - I've noticed that Ryanair are usually on time and I use them whenever possible.
I have used Monarch twice in the last month and both flights were delayed by two hours.

Much as I dislike the managing director of Ryanair, I have to say we have never had a bad experience with them or a delay ... flights have generally been early

A few freebies or cut-price trips will cut a lot of ice with the voting trends of travel agents whilst companies that try to cut out the middle man and deal direct with the public will not be looked on too kindly.
Simply a case of you scratch my back........as is the case with most of these phoney award publicity stunts.

My OH, who is a frequent flyer (twice a week) says they all vary at different times. He's finding monarch to be a nightmare at the mo, always late. In a few months they'll sort it and then it'll be Ear lingus's turn??!!?? Easyjet are going thru a good phase according to him right now!!?? Ryan dont do a "gatwick - Malaga" run so he cant compare them - altho rumour has it that Michael is wanting to buy aer lingus?????

Re: Ryanair/Easyjet
In defence of Easy Jet, I've been using them for 5 years for my trips home, and I can say honestly they've never been late.
They once threatened with leaving 90 minutes late, the plane was showing on on the screen in departures with a 90+ minute delay. I was just about to order myself something to eat and drink when it changed and left on time after all.

Isn't the old adage "you get what you pay for" not relevant here?

An item is only worth what someone is willing to pay.
