Ryanair again - Fat charge

This came up on a Dutch news site: After an enquiry amongst passengers, Ryanair is considering to charge overweight passengers. The idea is to charge male passengers per kilo over 130 kg. And female passengers which weigh over 100 kg. 29% of 100.000 questioned passengers is in favour of the extra charge. There should also be a charge for a 2nd chair if the overweight client´s belly touches both armrests.

Has this already been in the British news?

And!

I am all in favour of that cos recently on one of the few ocassions I take hold baggage (was staying for about 12 days ) and had sweets and Easter eggs for the family and was allegedly on 16 kgs ??? they made me open my bag up and put a kilo in my hand luggage (a pain for those queuing behind me ) or pay whatever extortionate rate they were charging per kilo on the day but just in front of me were to very large people (nothing against them ) but I would hazzard a guess one was at least DOUBLE my weight and the other 50% heavier than me at least ,but why be so pedantic about my meagre1 Kilo why can't everyone have ,say a max gross weight of (as above ) 130KG I am 80kg so I could have loads of luggage if I wanted to ,but I suppose it would not be PC to be weighed on check in ,I am all for it .

Yawn.
yeah, yeah. This sounds just like the other completely unfounded scare story a few weeks ago about charging for the loo. I'll beleive it when I see it - until then it's not worth moaning on about.

I'd be surprised if they could get away with differentiating on basis of gender like this.
