Ryan Air have thrown all their toys out of the pram and threatening to withdraw their flights to Jerez, Seville and Granada from the end of November if the strikes continue. Read about it in www.cadiznews.co.uk under inland news

Looking at the Ryanair website it gives the impression that the lugggage restriction to hand luggage only is from Seville, Jerez etc flights outwardbound. So if one has travelled with checked in luggage how does it get unloaded in Spain?? Just thinking ahead as I am planning to take my own turkey over in December... :p

Well Dazzle is that you salivating or grinning??? It's a super duper one from Waitrose, that has been sitting in the freezer for a year...usual thing of buying one planning to spend a quiet Christmas, then the thought of someone else doing the cooking proves too enticing, and we accept an invitation out to lunch!!!!!!
Mind you we are hoping for lunch by the pool and dinner by the fire..... :eek:

Thought the fuss was all about the baggage handlers refusing to LOAD during refuelling to speed up turn around times? Unloading would not be a problem then as it's done immediately, before refuelling starts. Hence the strike only applies to luggage loaded not unlaoded in Spain?
Turkeys here are much tastier than the English ones by the way. Free range and less swollen with water.

Interesting news on another CDL forum , new airline Clickair , Iberias low cost version to fly heathrow to seville as of Feb , this starts as BA / Iberia stop flights to seville / gibraltar .

Also noticed contributors moaning that Ryanair had reduced flights to Jerez to one a day , obviously new to area , this they do every winter , flights are diverted to the skiing routes , they will revert to 2 a day April onwards but only have the less popular afternoon flights at present as stated before , some of these are now being discounted , tues / wed and outside school hols .

No further news on Ryanairs fued with baggage handlers but don't believe their threat to pull ot of several spanish airports ,although they have done similar things before .

Clickair does look promising , doesn't start until 01/02/07 and only has flights at present until mid march on sale , decent times and prices are low and quoted prices include all taxes and no luggage surcharge ,whether this is a long term offering or not we will have to wait and see but competition for Ryanair can only be good for the traveller .

We flew with clickair 2 weeks ago Seville-Barcelona. Have to say we were very impressed. For the two of us including taxes we paid less than 100 euros return. They don't allocate you a seat - it is a free for all once you get to the boarding lounge so people start queueing up very early. Fantastic brand new aircraft with leather seats that smelt like a brand new car - mmmm. Not much leg room though. I didn't realise that they were going to do flights to the UK so I will have to look into that.

If you go onto the site they are only showing the pm flights. Will the am flights definitely go on sale does anyone know, or will it depend on the take up of the pm ones?

Any further news on the Ryanair situation? I am flying into Seville from Liverpool and out again in the next few days! Would bring just hand luggage but am I correct in thinking you still cannot have toiletries, make up, mobile phones etc in your hand luggage?

Mobile phones are now OK in hand luggage leaving the UK, but you still can't carry liquids, gels, creams etc through the security checkpoints so must be packed in hold luggage other than any items you buy in duty free or airport shops after you have gone through security. You still can't take liquids, etc as hand luggage on flights to the US, at all.

The am flights will not go on sale until they start having two flights a day again in the spring of next year.
Read the post above yours again by Mourinho and all will become clear. ;)

So you can't carry liquids, creams, etc in hand luggage, and you can´t check it into the hold either if they are striking?

That might require a lot of careful thought when packing! Or just do a major shop in the duty free and then bin it before you fly back again!
