Spain implies that it's Gibraltar that wants to mix sport with politics. It insinuates Gibraltar's sporting bids are not for sporting reasons but aimed at promoting the Rock politically at an International level

It's a wonder Matts not on here hailing the achievements of the Lions.
There again having written them off before they went because there were too many Taffies in the side, maybe he doesn't want to face the music.

As RM isnt around I will say that the Lions did it to the Aussies quite soundly, in a way that leaves them with egg on their faces.
it isn't who was chosen, who played, how they played.
they did good and gave a more than positive result.
well done to all

If it hadn't been for the English, Scots and Irish in the team there wouldn't have been a team, quite a few Welshies flew home broken eh?

Thought that might just bring you out of the woodwork, though lets face it the Aussies ain't quite what they used to be, more like a bunch of nancy boys these days.

I agree about the Aussies, lets not forget the Lions only just won the first test and they got beaten by the Brumbies and some of the performances were less than convincing, I do wonder what the outcome would have been against the All Blacks or the Saffa Twats. All that said it was a historic win and I am eternally happy it happened, it just wasn't the first thing on my mind, posting on BE about something that only ever starts pissing contests on here....

Gibraltar rugby club - called the Gibraltar Barbarians play in the Andalucia League and play their home matches near Sotogrande just down the road from us.
If you think about it there are parallels between the situations in Gibraltar and Northern Ireland. The UK would possibly like to see the back of both of them but the indigenous populations want to remain 'British'.
As northern Irish play in the Ireland team, the parallel would be for Gibraltarians to play for Spain.
Can't see that happening.

I got back from a short stay 2 hours ago... checking my BE profile was not the first thing on my mind, don't flatter yourself.

Yes, a poor Aussie team, but even so they had more than enough chances to win the first test. Ditto, glad the Lions won, but they should have been dead and burried after the second test, but they went out in style with the last game. Did I hear Call Me Dave suggesting that obnoxious Scot should be knighted for winning a game of tennis, surely a knighthood for all the Lions if they are giving them away for winning a game!

Absolutely and I can't emphasise how happy it makes me that the Lions have stuffed the Aussies, not least that I am one of those saps who thinks the likes of the Lions and BaBas make for highly entertaining rugby and I've always been a fan... Not sure I'd agree with you about the comments or at least the sentiment regarding Murray, I'm actually a huge fan of the guy and for me it's been a spanking weekend, although if I'm honest I saw none of it as I was sat in a field being eaten alive by horseflies and drinking rough west country cider as I try and kill everyone with cremated fire pit burgers and chicken.....
Maybe best left to the Aussies, probably the only thing they're still any good at.
