We live in Gibraleon, (We are British) Huelva. having just purchased the book.
You & the law in Spain. we have been trying to obtain The Certificate of Registration. used to be known as a Residence certicate, not just the local one which enables us to vote in our local elections.
It appears that we need a form 790 from the Police station, then take it to the bank, pay 6.70 Euros, then back to the office. etc etc.
We have been to two local police stations, no good, then directed to this office in Huelva, found a street full of Morrocans etc, we were told to wait in the queue, no movement in hours.
Does anyone know how to obtain this certificate in the Huelva area, (Ayomonte) any good. ?

As I mentioned in your other post, the form you need to complete is EX16. Thats the residency certificate application. You take that to the Police Station, then they give you what I assume is a 790 to take to the bank, you get it stamped at the bank when you pay, take it back to the Police station, and they issue your certificate.

Thank you very much I now have the form Ex16
But in Huelva the police station do not deal with these residency applications, they send you to a back street official office which is filled, daily, with Morrocans etc from end to end, we have been twice and the queue has not moved. To save time do you know if you can download the form 790.

There are several versions of form 790 available online but not, it would appear, the one that you need which bears the sub code 012.

Do not use the wrong one because it will not be accepted.

I'm afraid this is often the case, and you just have to grin and bear it. In Gandia Police station there is a big room, and several times we have been there it has been absolutely full of people milling around looking lost ... no system ... ticket machine, but empty.

Get there half an hour before the place opens and try and get near the front of the queue. Downloading the form wont help you mutch, as its the waiting to lodge the EX16 that takes the time, and you have to tale that form to a bank afterwards and then return anyway

Can I ask why you feel the need to keep mentioning Morroccans etc
YOU are a immigrant to our country as well,and DONT have any special importance over and beyond any other immigrant!
With regard to the form you need,you'll just have to wait like everyone else!

Our local police station only deals with residency certificates on Wednesdays - ask at your local police station if there is a specific day for certificates.

There is a difference. Europeans have freedom of movement within EU member states of which Spain, although difficult to believe at times, is one. Moroccans do not.

I have lived and worked all my life overseas, Africa, Middle East, Far East, - over 50 years so I am not biased in any way whatsoever towards Moroccons or any other race. It is just a fact that the queue consisted of over 90% immigrant workers (mostly Moroccons) waiting for their work permits and visas etc. etc. I realise that I am also an immigrant but also a member of Europe and feel that there should possibly be a separate queue relating to people who wish to become resident of this lovely country and not met with a queue a mile long and at my age have to wait hours and hours just to make an appointment with my wife who at the time was not feeling too well. from Certainly Not Racialist Bonon

It is the same in most police stations but they usually have a desk special for NIE and residencia forms, I believe at ours you have to make an appointment now.

I didnt ask about the difference in freedom of movement,Iasked about the relevance of race to the discussion.
Let me explain why this has struck a cord with me,whilst I am of pure Spanish heritage (or as pure as it gets)of olive complexion,I have been the subject of racist abuse on my own country by English immigrants,I have been told to go back to my own country,I've had the same immigrants say to me "the last thing we need in this country is more of your lot",whilst checking onto a train at Alicante to visit relatives in Madrid I've had English immigrants say "they should check his bags properly,you know what their like"
The last thing we need in this country are foreign xenophobes bringing their prejudices with them,and stirring up problems. I do however accept that not all Brits are racist,they are also no the only ones to hold these views either.I also accept that we have racists of our own in this country.
This is the reason I questioned the OP,having read his reply,I am satsfied he does not fall into this category,and I welcome him to Spain.

Our local police station doesn't deal with Residency issues either, and we have to go to the Office for Foreigners in the capital of our region.

I recently read in the newspaper, that as from today, they are going to adopt an appointment system.....................which will hopefully help everyone with all the waiting times (which are an inevitable part of doing pretty much anything that involves paper and rubber stamps here)

It may be that your local office might have also adopted this system??
You could do a Google search for the telephone number of your local office and ask them; or get a Spanish friend to do this for you if you're not too confident about using the phone (it takes time!)
