I find Romanians quite good for most of these problems, and cheap.

Not the most interesting thread but can anyone give advice on how to remove the glue and stickers on new toilets etc.

And also care on parquet flooring

.....and remains of grout and plaster which is everywhere.

Our new house has never been lived in and theres quite a bit of cleaning need to get rid of everything being powdery.

Thanks.

Single sided blades! I use them in my work. So I always have them around the house. Brilliant for sstickers off glass and porcelain etc. Then use the disolvente universal on ceramic surfaces as advised by other posters just to shine up. They're also great for cleaning lumps of plaster and paint, Bird droppings and just about anything off windows, tiles, loads of things.

Should have said. Use them at a 45 degrees or less angle to the surface. And be careful!:)
And congratulations on your new house. Wishing you a very happy home.

What about using alcohol or 'aguarrás' (turps)?

You can buy them in plastic holders from anywhere, very cheap, got on the other day to clean the oven. They work very well:thumbsup:

Since acetone doesn't shift the sticky residues, I doubt alcohol would. It might. However, I do know that the universal solvent stuff shifts everything I have tried it on.

Would send you blind as it's got methanol added, which is very toxic. One way to get rid of the stick residue from those peelable labels, which never come off clean, is neat washing up liquid, just a couple of drops, rub with a damp cloth and it comes of easily, no danger from flammable solvents. If you are trying to get rid of grout etc from a ceramic tile floor, best to hire a buffer and polisher, works better than anything. We had to hire one of those when moving into a furnished apartment which had never been lived in, and the floors had never been prepared.

After having our kitchen retiled a few years back, the tiler advised us to spray the walls with furniture polish then wipe it off with a clean duster, to get rid of the white powdery residue from the grout. It works really well and avoids the need to keep washing the walls down until the residue disappears.

Your tiler leaves white powdery residue and tells you how to get rid of it?

That powdery residue simply wipes off with a dry cloth, I've found.
