Please can anyone assist? We are desperate to find a removal firm that has already been used by a member of this forum. Too many horror stories when checking reviews. Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated. Relocating from UK to Spain.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Probably be helpful to members if you provide the areas of the UK and Spain.

Hello neighbour. Rojales is a great town with good amenities. We used https://www.grantofbuckie.com/ did a cracking deal on a part load. Alternatively you may want to consider using a company local to Rojales? Their is a company in Guardamar, I have used their storage facility on Carrer Fusters. It was a while ago and unfortunately I cannot recall their name - must have spent too much time in the sun?

Hallo to you,I have used John McWilliams,Gottransportservices for many removals up & down Costa Blanca although his business is mostly International. He is based in Sax.Many Removal companies are not interested in "within Spain" services so it is good to meet someone who can cater for everyone.I can assure you he is a legal business, honest, fair prices& reliable. His e-mail is [email protected] Give him a ring & see.

Thank you both so very much for your referral’s! It is most appreciated. I did attempt to reply to the first post, to no avail. However, it seems to be working fine now! Once again, thank you!!!

My girlfriend and I did a move two years ago between London and Valencia. We used the company, Matthew James, who specialises in moves between the UK and Spain. They came to our apartment and carefully boxed up everything. All of our belongings safely arrived in Valencia in a very large truck (size of two double decker buses combined). As it such a large truck, you need to make sure that your destination in Spain is permitted to accommodate such large trucks (roads have width, height and WEIGHT limits). As we were having our delivery made to an address in an old pueblo, we didn't realise until about an hour before arrival that the pueblo did not permit such heavy vehicles. We should have checked beforehand, and we ended up needing to have our belongings delivered to another address. This was our fault as the company repeatedly wanted to confirm that there were no weight restrictions in the pueblo.

A good removal company would have checked that there were no issues at your addresses

If you let them do the packing/unpacking, expect several thousands, around £5k.

Would agree with that.. We are due (maybe not) to move over completely lock stock n barrel in July and were quoted £3000 for a standard 12 ton truck door to door from Shoreham (West Sussex) to Xirles (Inland of Benidorm) late last year.
AND we are not moving white goods or any bulky furniture items. Just books, my record collection and hardware, other personal stuff and a few small bookcases, stands and the TV, all my art stuff and my Jewellery workshop (you would be surprised how much room it takes up.
Decided its easier to move ourselves and have arranged a one way rental for about £750 (a MWB van and 3 of us) and the ferry at £650 from Portsmouth to Santander. And Ive ditched quite a lot of the stuff we intended to bring over.
I would also stress that it easier not to move white goods unless they are brand new as, its not like you can't buy the same thing in Spain.. And it will be warranted which if purchased in the UK I doubt it would be.
The moving companies work on a square metre of load, plus a cost depending on what you want moved. And expect there to be 2 or 3 people included for lets say 6 days at least (load lorry, drive lorry, unload lorry, drive back to the UK)
Im expecting our trip to be bumped back to September, if its any later then we will leave everything here in the UK in storage and fly as the ferries stop running and I can't be bothered to drive through France. I will do the run next year. At least we will be at home in Spain.

Many Thanks for the quick replies, I think the second option of hiring vans would be better as we have three sons and could do the move between us and then they can take vans back t the UK. Just out of interest what or who was the one way rental?

There are others available and there may be one near you.
I would be careful if renting to drive to Spain and then back to the Uk as you need documentation from the hire company to allow transport of goods across Europe.
