Default Recent residency application problems?

A guy on FB sent me the following message re my residency application:
Suerte; believe that I read in a Spanish paper that it was no longer a given for UK nationals.

This would be at administrative discretion. Already, H2020 has essentially eliminated UK submissions. The EU is acting as though Brexit had already happened. If you are renewing, that may be a mitigating circumstance; if your Spanish is good, perhaps that could help.
Anyone had any problems getting residency recently?

I think your guy on FB has been listening to too much pub gossip (IMHO).

It is EU law - the Spanish cannot change that.

As already said - pub gossip!

You will be needing the MMR vaccination soon then. Its anti 'My Mate Reckons'..... Not the other sort.
No, you can still sign on the Foreigners Register aka 'Residencia' if you meet the criteria as regards income / health cover etc.

I told him I was sceptical. But just wanted to ask here if anyone had had any recent problems. Or heard of any such thing.

And sure, whilst it's EU law, Britain seems to find plenty of ways to try to deny immigrants their legal rights. I wouldn't blame any EU country for retaliating.

Not sure on that one as the UK doesn't even attempt to apply the EU allowed 90 day rule at the minute? However i think that will be what they mean by registering during the transition period.
