Default Rain in Spain

Starting to get worried about this drought now. It used to rain a lot this time of the year. Now there’s no rain in site. Is this the new Normal in Spain now ?. There is no life without water

Under the new measure, a privately owned swimming pool can be refilled in a severe drought if authorities declare it a "climate refuge" open to residents seeking relief from the heat.

If only the Generalitat could put as much effort into improving the infrastructure connecting different river areas together as they do finding excuses to exempt farmers and tourists from following water restrictions.

They have also stopped farmers and citizens burning plant waste 2 months early this year... At least in the Valencian community..

It was raining non stop in Bilbao Monday and Tuesday when we're there before getting the ferry to the UK...

The Valencia community now has a fire and BBQ ban in place until October.
There was a large fire in Taberba at the weekend started by two farmers burning waste without a licence...

In the past decade, there has been a noticeable deterioration in Spain's climate, decreased rainfall and more intense summers. That is what I felt after many years living in Spain.

It’s really changing and quick. My Landlord said he has never known the summers this long , hot and dry. In the mountains of Tarragona it hasn’t rained properly for years. My friend also mentioned they have banned BBQ’s where he is.

We're pretty fortunate here. Hope Bilbao weather didn't spoil your visit too much.
Our average annual rainfall here is 1200litres. that's around 50" in UK terms.
In a sense the climate has always been changing, but certainly man has influenced things as well.
We were recently in Alicante. Lovely climate, but I wouldn't want to live there, so dry.
