Rain, rain, rain,

Just took the dogs outside for a jimmy and they refused to walk out in the rain and promptly returned to their baskets.
The rain is teaming down which I think was well overdue) However I do not like the damp one feels in the air. I was laughing with Mrs P last night how I can't wait for in a couple of months time when we are sitting watching TV in the buff at 10pm sweating profusely and moaning thats its too hot !

Ha ha.....you don't know what rain is until you've experienced a tropical rainstorm..!
It's been very wet and stormy here in Singapore for the past few days. Last night after the rain had stopped there was a lightning show for hours (Singapore gets more lightning strikes than virtually anywhere else on the planet).
However, the temp is still about 90F and never gets lower than 75F all year round, with constant high humidity.
I'm sitting here eating my breakfast but all I'd really like to do right now is to go in the pool....however the sky is black (again) so it's probably not a good idea....
PS: Is it true that the 'rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain'...?!!!!

"Average yearly rainfall varies hugely. Two extremes: 1,955.2mm in 1855, and just 355.8mm in 1981, with an average variation of 20% from one year to the next, excepting the wet Cantabrian Strip. This rises to as much as 40% in places like the Mar Menor in Murcia. Consequently, longer periods are required to come up with a reliable area average (typically 40 rather than 30 years). Average rainfall in Spain as a whole is around 650mm with the 'wet' part of Spain rising to around 1,000 mm. Semi-arid 300 mm. In Mediterranean Spain, rainfall tends to be concentrated in just a few days, and within this sometimes within a few hours. Figures of 100mm are common, and figures of 250 not exceptional. The record is a remarkable 878mm in Xà via in 1957, followed 30 years later by 817mm in Oliva (Valencia) on 3 November 1987, followed by 600mm in Albuñol (Granada) on 19 October 1973 and 426mm in Cofrentes (also Valencia) on 20 October 1987. Another example: 119mm fell in one hour on 1 July 2003 in the village of Manuel in Valencia." More HERE

So what's the 'look out of the window' weather forecast for your neck of the woods today jdr? School excursion to Fuengirola Zoo & I realised I might have made a rash judgement not putting him in a waterproof!!!
