That's exactly the way it was for us!
When the interest rate dropped we carried on paying at fourteen percent and very soon had the mortgage paid off, so there was a silver lining after all.

did Hovis ever go that low ??

unless I am getting my crises muddled up that would be in the 1980's about the time my wife got pregnant and we lost her bank salary

as soon as you see 100 percent financing you know the property will be overpriced

Last night on Newsnight it showed some Spanish occupying empty unfinished apartments, and they reckoned that it would grow, more people that had had their own properties repossessed would be occupying empty properties. Similarly some people had taken over some unused land to operate a cooperative growing vegetables etc. I can certainly see this sort of thing increasing as things continue to get worse. And they surely will.

Also a very good idea - it happens it the UK too, they call it guerrilla gardening. Check out Incredible Edible, Todmorden.

Also in the Málaga news this morning 30+ have taken over some new unoccupied property in Málaga, Alhaurin de la torre and Torremolinos.

Not sure how growing veg would help unless they use free water. We found it cost more than they were worth when we saw the water bill!

That happened in Atarfe, just North of Granada about 2-3 years ago.
They were evicted by the police and the properties are still empty with police tape around them.
I think the developer went bust at about the same time.

I saw a flat advertised recently for 18,000 euros south of Valencia. Cant remember the place name now but it was near the A7. Regardless of possible noise, what a great price.

its when you have been with a company for a few years and the same old faces keep coming up for donations to the baby, you think to yourself "thought she left after the last baby, havent seen her since then either".
how do companies manage the wages bills ??
