Seem to be a lot more about this year.
I can't recall seeing so many nests before, wonder if it's down to the mild Winter.
I wonder what it's like elsewhere ?

Where are you, round my immediate locality I am seeing less nests than usual, although I have insecticide treated the one tree on the regular dog follow.

More around us than last year. Luckily the ones near us were on low branches so I was able to snip the branches holding the nests into a bag then take them back and burn them.

I'm in Valencia region.
Normally I can deal with most of them but this time there's lots of the bafty crastards high up in trees where I've never seen them before.

As am I.
There's only one nest nearish to me that I can't get to, I'll have to live with that.

They used to hang out high up in a neighbour's tree overhanging my garden.
Strangely the tree took sick and died.

Yep, loads around here and very much higher up than normal so can't get to them!

We're surrounded by mountainsides with mostly pine trees; can't say there are more nests than usual, in fact I'd say fewer.

My opinion also.
I read somewhere that they're spreading further north each year with the milder winters and are well on their way through France.
I wonder if they'll make it to the UK if they haven't done so already, though I imagine they'll need to hitch a ride ?

what damage do theycreate?
as far as I can see they just go about their own business.

In extreme cases they can kill you, kill your pet and kill the tree they nest in,
but don't panic Mr Mainwaring,
as long as you exercise a little common sense you shouldn't have a problem.
