Open a bank account
Get a gestoria (accountant) which it seems you have
An abogado (solicitor) if you are thinking of a house purchase
When you are settled, sign on the padron at the local town hall
Close your eyes, cross your fingers, take a deep breath ...... then reeeeeelax

Get a pension forecast (if applicable!).
Get your E106/121 sorted for health care.
Open an account with a currency broker if you're going to be transferring large/regular sum(s) of money (easier to do whilst still in the UK than trying to do from Spain).

Wondered what we would do about that.. We are going to buy a property in spain and will need to transfer mortgage money ect. So do you know what the procedure is?

Usually you transfer the money as required to your solicitor into a client account. We used Currencies Direct, but there are other ways, most of which have threads elsewhere on this forum.
