What’s everybodies view on the interim(2 years(?)) centre left getting in to power and any potential implications to the expat community?

I think there may be earlyish elections. I don't think any party would say no to foreigners money or taxes. Don't know what EU and Britain's withdrawal plans are though

I don't particularly like Rivera & Ciudadanos as they're a slightly milder version of Rajoy's party, but still supported by ex-Francoists who'll vote PP at any cost. He'll want early elections as he's got more chance of scooping up votes than Sanchez. He'll want to steer a steady course.
Can't see that "expats" will be disadvantaged until at least post Brexit.

What on earth does the crusifix or the bible got to do with the government ? Religion is an outdated concept attempting to keep people in line. No longer relevant!

Re: Prime Minister Rajoy.
I sold my Spanish property and left Spain in November 2011 when Rajoy was elected Prime Minister and have done my best to avoid the country since.
Now with the return of the PSOE to power I will soften my opinion and visit again.
However how long the PSOE remain in power remains to be seen.

If you say so, but millions both today and in the past would disagree with you. Religion as we know it, whatever it means might be outdated in your opinion, but not its Christian message, which is often hijacked by all sorts, including "religious" people.

My view on the Bible and crucifix is if he doesn't believe in religion I prefer that someone doesn't pretending they do by holding such things. Personally religion means little to me but to some it does and that is up to them no one else, same applies to someone who doesn't follow religion no requirement to justify that to others.

Re: Prime Minister Rajoy.
Religion 1.0 may have started as a way to organise society and lay down a code of laws to an ignorant world requiring the threat of the wrath of god but the need for conversion in Religion 2.0 turned it into pure manipulation and a divine justification to kill those who are not part of your religion in order to spread it's word. With mass education we can make people understand an acceptable level of behaviour with the threat of a punishment by a society that would remove the right to liberty if it's rules are broken so as marcbernard said religion is no longer relevant and a leader is quite capable of taking office without holding a collection of fairy stories and a lump of wood.
oh and ...good riddance Rajoy !!

This thread has gone slightly off topic but it hasn’t been helped by someone who seems to know little about religion the expounding on it. Isis and the council of Nceaas you put it are not Christian nor do they believe in Jesus Christ.

Re: Prime Minister Rajoy.
apologies for my late night misspelling of Nicaea....I don't think you will find I referred to ISIS as christian just that they were sending out the same message. As for my knowledge, you seem to think the Council of Nicaea had nothing to do with christianity and they didn't believe in jesus.... can I just leave it there ?
final point is going off topic....nothing off topic about good riddance Rajoy!!
