Toilet rolls you really do get what you pay for, unless you don't mind using the bog rolls from cheap places like Lidl and Aldi they are awful

Is the one in Benalmadena as bad as the one near to the Airport - there is nothing in there worth buying - sad looking veg and could not care less staff.
My OH said the only thing she buys in there is their day and night cream - can you eat it?
Just in case - where abouts in Benalmadena is it?

Thank you for that - quite near to you then.
Have you been to the one near to the airport or the one in Alhurine - was very disappointed when we went in there - probably expecting them to be like the UK Aldis which they are not. Not even on a par with Lidl.

Iceland is no more of a rip off than any of the other shops in Spain selling "English" foods that are not normally obtainable in Spain.
In fact, I have been there once, and was pleasantly surprised at some of their prices compared to the same products in Spanish supermarkets although they were obviously much more than in the UK (what a surprise!)
If you want "near" UK prices then Morrisons in Gib is the only option.
If you live in Spain and want UK branded foods or other products then you will just have to pay the price - I don't consider it a rip-off - just a good marketing opportunity to satisfy a very small specialist demand.
It's the same the world over.

...The Tesco can is a few pence cheaper but I would not give them room in my kitchen but give me Aldi beans - the taste is wonderful. This is not my staple food but I love baked beans and can write a book entitled "The Baked Bean Bible" but that is another story. The toilet roll prices were the same - you get what you pay for - pay 46p instead of £1.20 and you will be putting another one in there by teatime...
Love of baked beans and the price of toilet roll mentioned in the same sentence, made me chuckle...

We just cant win. Morrisons in Gibraltar is overpriced too, and with no competition they can charge all they like.. and think about the locals who really have no choice other than to dare to venture out to Spain, sit in a 3 hour queue and get harassed by the guardia civil to get their groceries!
Seriously Morrisons Gib put 50p extra on a £1 TV Times magazine
