Hello
We live in Hungary and in our later years but a bit adventuristic with a smallish budget. I have read that it is expensive on the death of a partner etc (funerals). Is there any help/facts to confirm or deny this. Thank you.

Like in any country in the world, the cost associated with death and funeral varies greatly depending on what you want. You can spend tens of thousands of euros wanting an elaborate ceremony with horse-drawn carriage, full embalming and carved, full-wood coffin, or a very simple affair at a crematorium perhaps costing a few thousand euros. A lot of people take out a funeral plan - widely available - which covers the main items you want. I'd imagine that comparing the cost of living, it will probably cost more in Spain for a similar ceremonial.

Hola
Recently, I have heard of two deaths where the partner arranged the no-frills cremation; one cost 1,580€ and the other 2,280€. Both are considered cheap when compared to the average cost of a funeral plan which ranges from 3,000€ upwards.
