Thanks Chris, I am quite looking forward to going home now, it's been an experience and I don't regret coming here I just wish things could have been different and we hadn't chosen the urbanisation in Castalla. There are plenty of cheaper, and better villas in and around Castalla. Quite a few people we know of have pulled out of buying on the urbanisation because of all the problems.

This is the first time I´ve replied to a thread but I just wanted to add condolences.

I worked for a large english estate agent when I first moved to Spain and, much later, found that they did not check out the builders before introducing clients to them to buy. I could not work like this. I have elderly parents that have an apartment here for the winters and could not bear to think of anyone treating them so badly.

I have since moved to work with a lovely Spanish family inmobilaria and, whilst it´s a very chilled, honest service we offer with no hard sell, it´s difficult because each time a client finds a property they want to buy, my boss goes through all the paperwork and 90% of the time there´s a legal problem and we have to advise them not to go ahead!

There are a lot of very honest, lovely, generous spanish people in this beautiful country. The problem is, if you are honest and your reputation means more to you than the big buck, you have a problem making a living!

Anyway, good luck in the UK, I have many friends in Lancashire and love the people there.

Thank you for a lovely post :) Yes, there are a lot of unscrupulous agents out there, both in the UK and in Spain :frown: It's awful the way they operate without a care for anyone, just so long as they get their commission. I have worked for estate agents in England and also done conveyancing, the way it is done in Spain is NOT the way I am used to.
