Pre-pay device for toll roads

Pre-pay device for toll roads
I've seen this new utility (called Mobe) which may be of interest to someone here. Obviously if you only use toll roads once or twice a year, it probably won't be of interest, but it may be a boon for frequent travellers in a hurry on the autopista toll networks.
Basically it's a company offering a pre-pay device, so you don't need to stop at toll booths (although I imagine you have to slow down a bit so the detector mechanism can raise the barrier). They also claim that the device will be able to pay for parking spaces automatically (eg at airports or city centres) in the future, but when that future is, is open to question. As I said, it won't be worth the hassle for most of us, but there's always someone who needs this type of gadget!

The principle is not new - many companies offer it - this is just a new one.

I assume there is a similar thing for the congestion charge in London, unless they just match the registration plate against subscriptions.
These type of things are another reason I try to avoid driving nowadays. Apart from the extra tap-tap-tap of extracting money, it's all extra hassle I find, especially when you need to find somewhere to park. There again, I don't mind lugging a suitcase or bags of shopping down the road from the station to my home; I can understand why most people do.

We never get held up at the tolls but Ive often wondered what happens when someone on their own is driving a right hand drive car.....now that could cause a hold up.Lol.

I remember using the Dartford crossing a lot a few years back, when I used to commute from Nottingham to Kent weekly. If I recall correctly there were loads of foreign truckers who used this. I never thought about how they paid their toll, but I assumed most had it pre-paid by their company.
