Also though as with UKIP in UK there must be some public concern or it wouldn't get the publicity

The major barrier to most Spanish people wanting to leave the Euro, is that they'd never trust their politicians or bankers in Madrid (or Barcelona for that matter) to be in charge of the nation's currency again.
Remember that as exports rise, and tourism remains strong, that everyone would prefer to be paid in a strong currency, rather than one that loses 50% in value overnight.
Someone here once said it was more likely that Germany would leave the Euro. They may have a point.

I think Spain would be better off leaving the euro. The troika are now pushing Rajoy to increase VAT and he is resisting. Good for him it would be a disaster. Saw this in the telegraph today
Spain's public debt shot to a record high in the first quarter of this year, the Bank of Spain said Friday, despite Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy's hotly protested austerity squeeze.
Spain's public debt surged to 88.2pc of annual economic output, up by 15.2 percentage points from a year earlier, the central bank said.

I'd imagine so, yes. But the Euro would still buy the same things at the same price from France, Italy, Greece etc. Just that Mercedes or Porsche cars would become more expensive...which is probably why the Germans are generally content to stay within the Euro, despite the problems.

Up to the politicians but I would think the benefit of improved exports and tourism for all the southern European countries would outweigh cost of luxury cars. Mind that didn't seem to be much of a consideration when entering into the venture. I suppose time will tell can't see anything happening soon.
