Can't help with your question but would advise you to check with someone in your area about local wild life. A neighbour of ours wanted to have a sand pit but was advised against it as we have scorpions in the area who like to bury in them which is a danger for children.

Sand pits are unhygienic, I'd not let my grandchildren play in one to be honest.

Try googling, "Arena niños comprar" brought up this as the first hit - but there are probably lots of others. "Arena lavada" as this is described is washed sand.

Hi everyone
thank you rachelk for the link.
I have a special cover for the play sand, all enclosed with no scorpions in this area.
as for being unsafe , no animal pooh will go anywhere near it !!
and as it is washed sand it is 99% safer than playing on the beach, where there are dogs and other germs. Food is the highest risk and they will not be eating in the sandpit.
The sand pit has a concrete base and risen sides that have been all treated. There is also a child friendly insect repellent under the wood to stop any smaller ie ants getting in.
I have thought of everything and just needed to know where to get safe washed sand , so thanks rachelk , that's exactly what I wanted .
regards Kim
